“But Mary was treasuring up all these things and in her heart and meditating on them” Luke 2:19

Christmas is such a special time of year for all of us. This year is no different we have so much to be celebrating for this Christmas. And celebrate we will! We have events going on all month as we head toward the day which we gather together to worship and adore the One who has come to bring salvation to the world.

We will start the month long celebration with Advent. We are going to use this time to reflect and remember what this time is all about. Then we will celebrate the arrival of Pastor Andrew as he begins ministry with us this month. We are also going to have the “Ramsey Family Christmas” which will look at the different ways we celebrate from generation to generation.

We will also have our Holiday dinner for a time to share a meal together. We will have a time of caroling when we will go with the kids and brighten people’s lives with singing. Then, on Christmas Eve, we will have a special service where we will observe the Lord’s Supper together as families to turn our eyes once again to Christ.

All these events are designed to do a couple of things. 1) It draws us closer as a church family. To share in the holiday with each other draws our attention away from ourselves and toward each other. 2) It makes our celebration greater. To celebrate alone isn’t nearly as much fun or meaningful as when we celebrate with others. Especially when we see the others we are celebrating with as family. 3) It helps to turn our focus and attention away from the trappings and materialism we sometimes fall into and to Christ who is the One we come to worship and adore.

So make plans to be here this month in order to celebrate, rejoice, and enjoy this Christmas season with us, your church family, because it just wouldn’t be the same without you.

Following Him,

Pastor Jeff
