Your child will enjoy all that Vacation Bible School has to offer: singing, crafts, games, snacks and learning how Peter found life by the Sea- all in a safe, friendly environment.
VBS is for kids who have COMPLETED Kindergarten through 6th grades (no preschool class this year).
Avoid the paper and the lines by registering your kids for VBS using our registration form at the link below!
How we’re keeping your kids safe during VBS:
- Contactless Registration using the link above will help us prepare and limit the number of people in the building.
- Groups will be divided by grade/age and will be limited to 10 students each (more groups will be added if needed- no student turned away)
- Each student will receive a bag with their own set of crayons, pen/pencil, folder, scissors, glue, etc to eliminate sharing of supplies. These bags will be sent home at the end of the week of VBS.
- When gathering in a large group, distancing measures will be in place to help students spread out. Staggered dismissal and one way hallways will also keep students from congregating in large groups inside the building.
- All snacks will be individually wrapped Grab & Go style and will be eaten outside.
- Shared spaces such as craft tables, restrooms, etc will be disinfected between group rotations.
- Hand sanitizer will be available for students to use upon entering the building, before snacks and at any other time deemed necessary by the leaders.
- Drive-thru drop off and pick up will be implemented so parents do not have to enter the building (see instructions below). We encourage everyone to pre-register your children using our online form (see above). This will make drop-off easier and cut down on the need to come inside to fill out paperwork.
This has been a crazy year, but we’re so thankful to get to offer VBS to the kids of our community in spite of everything! Drive-thru Drop-off & Pick-up
Drive-thru Drop-off: (Doors open at 5:45pm nightly)
- When you enter the church parking lot, drive to the main entrance (south side).
- Volunteers will be there to ask if your child is already registered
- If you have pre-registered your child, continue around the building for drop-off.
- If you have not pre-registered, you will need to park in the main (south) parking lot to register using the link or paper form provided. Once all your kids are registered, you may proceed around the building for drop-off.
- Circle the building to the other front entrance (north side) near the playground for drop-off.
- Each child must pass a temperature check before entering the building. Parents: Please stay at the drop-off area until your child passes the temp check. (If a child does not pass the temperature check at first, you will be asked to pull into a parking space to wait a few minutes. Your child will have another temp check after a few minutes. Most kids pass the second time. However, if the child does not pass the second temp check, they will not be allowed at VBS that day. Temperature checks are performed on each volunteer and child every day of VBS. Any child who must be sent home will have the opportunity to try again at the beginning of the next day of VBS.
- Once a child is cleared to enter the building, they will be greeted with a squirt of hand sanitizer and directed to their assigned small group where they will receive a personalized bag full of the individual supplies they will use throughout the week of VBS. This bag will be used only by your child to ensure they do not have to share materials with any other child. The bag and supplies will be your child’s to keep at the end of the week. (Special thanks to Wal-mart for the donating many of the supplies needed!)
Drive-Thru Pick-up: (line forms at 8:25pm- kids are dismissed at 8:30pm)
- When you enter the parking lot, drive to the main entrance (south side).
- Volunteers will greet you and ask for the names of the kids you are picking up.
- Circle the building to the front (north) door for pick-up.
- Volunteers inside the building will call your kids from their groups and have them waiting for you by the north door.
- If your child needs more time, you will be asked to pull forward while you wait so that the pickup line keeps moving.
- If you have special instructions about who may or may NOT pick up your children from VBS, make sure to include that on your registration form under “Special Instructions.”
