“Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me.” – Rev 3:20

June is upon us and with that means busy, busy, busy. VBS, Mission Trip, Lunch Program, Bible Studies, and the list goes on and on. But all of these are good things that are being done in the name of Christ for the purpose of making Him known! I know it can feel overwhelming sometimes but a good reminder for you is this: You are not called to do all of it. However, you are called to do something.

God has gifted and equipped you to use the things and time He has given you to spread the message of His great love to all those around us. Another good reminder in doing this, you are not responsible for the results, simply your faithfulness. Another way of saying this is, It isn’t up to you if people respond positively to the message of Jesus. However, you need to be faithful in doing what He is telling you to do.

So, this would be a good time to take a breath, pray to the Lord, ask for His direction, and then be ready to move when He calls you to move. To go when He calls you to go. To speak when He calls you to speak.

All of this works for us in knowing God and relying on Him more and more. I heard an old preacher say just a couple weeks ago: People always say they want more of God, but the truth is you have all of God you want! The problem isn’t that God hasn’t shown up, the problem is we really don’t want Him enough.

So, as we focus on “More” this year. Maybe we need to tweak it and say that it’s not more of God we need but we need more “want”. It isn’t that God is playing hide and seek with us. He has said, if you seek after me, you will find me. He is with us always. We simply need to open our eyes and our hearts and welcome Him in!

Following Him,

Pastor Jeff
