“Your throne, God, is forever and ever.” – Psalm 45:6
September is always a time of change. The weather begins to change. Kids go back to school. The days get shorter. People start to get into a new routine. We are no different. We are in the midst of many changes, and it can be, at times, overwhelming and disconcerting but we can rest in the fact God never changes. He is the constant, never wavering, One in our lives we can depend on and trust with all we are. He is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore.
And yet, He helps and leads us through these changes in our lives. We know we can trust Him, and He has what is best in mind for us. So, with this in mind, although uncomfortable and unsettling at times, change is a good thing. We have been through changes where we have seen God do things, we had no idea was possible.
R3 Conference is happening again this year, which feels like a consistent event for us every year, but God is doing something new with it and you don’t want to miss it. Next month, we are having a Worship Conference, something totally new for us, and we are already seeing God build an excitement in other churches because of our obedience in following through with it.
There are also new things about to happen with many other ministries within the church, and while it will be difficult to adjust, we know God is moving and getting us ready to move into new avenues of ministry.
So, as we venture out into some unknowns, continue to pray, be focused on helping each other, don’t forget to center yourself in the Gospel, and when life feels like it’s getting way too complicated – remember to keep it simple. Our Christ-centered principles have served us well through many events over the past several years, we know they will continue to in the years to come.
Following Him,
Pastor Jeff
