“Journey of discovery into the mind and heart of God”

“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to make you stand in the presence of His glory, blameless and with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority before all time, now, and forever, Amen.” Jude 24-25

I have thoroughly enjoyed this year as we have been Rediscovering God on Sunday mornings. I knew going into this, it would be challenging and there would be way more content than we could ever cover in just a year. I couldn’t believe how quickly the weeks went by and looked up and realized it was June and I hadn’t even started talking about Jesus yet. Not to mention all the somewhat ignored and forgotten attributes of the Holy Spirit.

In this study, I knew that it would be a great deal of learning, remembering, stretching, and growing in the knowledge of God. I expected to be challenged, surprised, and moved by diving in a little deeper into the heart and mind of God. I had an idea this study would be great, not only for me, for all of us.

What I did not expect was how it completely changed me. My worship has been deeper and more heartfelt. As we have discovered Him all over again, I feel compelled to lift my life up in worship not only on Sunday but every day. I also, for some reason, didn’t expect to be awed as much as I am. I have a greater understanding of what some of the people felt when they encountered a holy God. There are attributes of God, which I thought I knew, which now have overwhelmed me with such fear and awe that I am hesitant to preach about them because I want to make sure I get it right and do it justice.

So, as we continue this journey of discovery into the mind and heart of God, allow yourself to fall into the depths of His character and watch as He begins to change you more and more. It is a scary proposition, but there is nothing greater.

Following Him,

Jeff
