Our Core Values

Our Mission

“To Know Christ and To Make Him Known”

“To Know Christ” means that we believe our fellowship and regular study of His word are crucial for us to become all God wants us to be. We learn from each other, encourage and support on another as we display Christ to each other and share our lives together.

We believe that God’s Word is trustworthy and reliable without any errors or mistakes. We strive to take God’s Word literally, unless it is obviously figurative. We believe God wrote this book using people and their personality as well as their perspectives to teach, instruct, inform, rebuke, and inspire us. It is our standard and we strive to obey in all ways. We believe that it is one of the best ways to know who God is and what He desires for us.

“To Make Him Known” is comprised of two aspects: ministry and missions. Ministry is the act of showing the nature and love of God to those with whom we live on a daily and repetitive basis. Ministry is what is done at home, in our communities, and in the church. Ministry is meeting the needs of our people, in the name and love of Jesus. Missions involves reaching our beyond ourselves and our comfort zones to share the name and love of Jesus. Missions starts in Ramsey and goes around the world!

We live by four principles at FBC Ramsey:

1. Everything we do is covered in prayer: We believe this is the starting point for everything we do. We begin everything with prayer and seek God’s guidance for all things. Prayer is simply relationship with God. Prayer is sharing our lives with God, knowing He has shared His with us. So, every meeting, every meal, every service, every ministry, every mission is covered with prayer.

2. Everything we do is Gospel centered: We believe if we are not sharing the hope and love of Jesus, then we cease to be church and become just another community entity. So we make sure, no matter what we are doing, we do it with the Gospel in mind and for the purpose of showing and telling the Gospel with all those around us.

3. Everything we do is people-focused: We are a people-focused church, not a program-focused church. We value each and every person in the church. We pray for each other, support each other and seek to know each other better and better. We take care of each other when the need arises. We provide meals, financial assistance, counseling and love to anyone who needs it. This is a safe place for everyone. We are not perfect and do not expect you to be perfect.

4. In everything we do we strive to keep it simple. We believe that the purposes and the people within the things that we do are more important than the execution of the event. We have many events, but we try to keep everything as simple as possible. We strive to ask ourselves the question, not if we can do something, but rather should we do it? When we keep things simple, we are able to do what we do better. Simple does not mean shoddy, but rather it means we value people over things. We want to make sure we have enough time and energy to be people focused, gospel centered and prayer covered.
