“But I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to guard what He has been entrusted to me until that day.” – 2 Timothy 1:12b
This year has been a refreshing reminder of how the Lord has called to do ministry. There have been constant reminders to cover everything in prayer, make the gospel center, be focused on people, and keep things simple. This is the method we use to accomplish whatever ministry God has for us to do. When we obey, then God blesses and are given greater access into the knowledge of who God is and His will.
Which is what we will be reminding ourselves of for the rest of the year. For the next 2 months, we will be focused on Knowing Christ. We will be looking at the ways we know Him better, why it is important to know Him more, and ministry starts by knowing Him.
We are grateful for the privilege of knowing Him, and so it is worth spending time in contemplating the relationship we are capable of having with Him. There is no greater joy than this. Once we realize this, nothing will be the same for us. But the closer we get to Him, the more we see Him as He is and there is only one response. Awe!
This may be why we are so fearful to get too close. It is a fearful thing to be in the undiluted presence of God. So instead we stay at armlengths away so we can stay “comfortable”. But He wants more, He wants to draw you closer and closer. The only thing holding you back is you.
So, I hope you will join us each and every Sunday as we dive into Scriptures and experience God in amazing ways. Because we learn better together than we could learn on our own.
Following Him,
Pastor Jeff
