“Just one thing: As citizens of heaven, live your life worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or am absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, in one accord, contending together for the faith of the gospel,” – Philippians 1:27
One of the greatest benefits of the Gospel is we get to enter into a new kingdom. It is not a Kingdom of flesh and blood. It is not a kingdom of earthly things. It is not a kingdom with limits. But it is a kingdom with the most important thing, a king!
Because Jesus is king then it is important to us that we live up to the privilege given to us. We are known by the kingdom we hold allegiance to. We are known by the One we follow.
Therefore, we need to be careful to live in such a way we would be disparage the Gospel or Christ Himself. It is a the gospel which is our message and that message is too important to be sullied by our sin and disobedience. It is a message to urgent to simply let someone else do it.
So, how do we accomplish this. The first is, of course, to make the gospel the center of who you are. This means you are often thinking about what Jesus has done for you. It also mean it is the motivating factor which opens your mouth and shares what Jesus has done for us. Another important aspect is that we become unified together. We stand together under one banner, fight for one cause and serve One master. As we proclaim One message.
