“And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:3-5). Hope is an awesome acquisition that a follower of Jesus gains through a relationship with Him. Despite the brokenness that is in the world, the hope that is allotted through the Gospel of Jesus carries me through each day. May we all continue to press on in the hope that is found in the love of God!
March was a very busy month for our students. Mission Kids continued to meet on Wednesday nights looking at Noah, the tower of Babel, and Abraham. The Youth Group are still searching the “new life” that is brought on by a relationship with Jesus Christ. The Youth also had a blast playing glow in the dark volleyball at Lighthouse and enjoying a night of music at Winter Jam in St. Louis. Easter was also a wonderful time for our students to reflect and remember the love that God has for us.
As we look forward to consistent warmer weather in April, we look forward to continuing our Wednesday night Mission Kids and Youth Group time together. The Youth Group will be hosting a Youth dinner and dessert auction on Sunday, April 21st following our morning service. All donations will be going to our summer mission trip that is being planned for Elmwood Park, IL. The Youth Group will also host our last Lighthouse for this school year on April 26th from 6:30pm-9:00pm.
In closing, I would like to commend all our students who work hard in school and all their extracurricular activities. Watching you perform to the best of your ability is a joy. I pray the Lord allows you to use those abilities to continue to bring Him honor and glory.
